The very large-scale deployment of the Internet of Things (IoT) will soon affect billions of connected objects. With IoT Explorer, Orange research has mobilized virtual reality technologies to capture a realistic image of the deployments of tomorrow, at the scale of a large metropolitan area like Rennes.

Solution:

• This research tool, presented at the 2016 Research Fair, from December 6 to 8. It makes it possible to visualize these objects, to see what are their relationships and their history, and to understand in depth how our “augmented planet” will function tomorrow.

Technologies:

• It was developed under Unity 3D and uses the HTC Vive virtual reality headset
